LEARN TO SAIL
This interactive program places you at the helm of a coastal-cruising sailboat where you will gain competency in the fundamentals of seamanship and sailing with a focus on having safe and enjoyable times on the water. Small class size allows for instruction to be tailored to each student’s individual learning style and goals, SKIPPER ACADEMY employs hands-on experiences to build your skills and broaden your knowledge. You will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare for a sail, helm the boat, operate as crew, handle docking and mooring, navigation, weather, and safety including crew-overboard procedures.

Option 1) The Weekender | custom-tailored sailing course with up to 4 of your friends. Sail New York Harbor Saturday & Sunday and become a certified sailor. Solo options are also available
$2200 total up to 4 students per course | *discounts for private lessons
Option 2) The Commuter | weekday after-work hours sail Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to sunset. Hands-on learning sailing New York Harbor.
$575 per student, 12 hours of sailing broken up into 4 sessions | Basic Sailing 101 Certification $100 per student. Three is a three student minimum.
Option 3) The Taste | Just want to go out sailing for a few hours and have some basic tutorials, get your hands on the lines and drive the sailboat? We got you! You and your group can experience the taste of sailing during a 3-hour sail in New York Harbor. Contact us for availability.
$245 per hour w/ a 2-hour minimum. Each additional hour is reduced to $190/h

S/V Swift is a classic Vineyard Vixen 29 canoe stern double ended sloop designed and built by Thomas Hale at the Marthas Vineyard Shipyard. Built in 1975, the Vineyard Vixen 29 is sought after by many that often attracts a crowd as it sails by. Take a common J24 and make it 10x more enjoyable, and you have the S/V Swift.
